NZ white pine. Narrowly conical for many years, evergreen. Will tolerate very wet sites and grow in drier sites with good grass control. Tolerates shade but does best with blue sky above. Shade the trunk with shrubs to prevent sun scorch. Long lived.

Rimu, largely conical when young, Evergreen. A much loved New Zealand native that once dominated many forests around the country. Grows best in moist but well drained soils and will stand for as long as 900 years.

Boehmerwald (Czech) & Nelson origins. Narrowly conical, evergreen. A tree for moist sites in colder districts. A major timber tree in Europe and for Christmas trees in USA and Europe.

Central Honshu, a tall conical evergreen tree, similar to Picea abies from Europe. Branchlets and mature cones are a dark reddish brown. Collected from Central Otago, where it thrives.
