Dense tufts of arching leaves form a mophead, seed stalks up to 1.5m lie on the ground, hence the common name. Plants grown from a selected redder foliaged population. PLUG grown.

Eastern Marlborough high on Seaward Kaikoura Range. Tall shrub with upright branches, topped by a canopy of weeping grey leafless branchlets. In December large hanging clusters of 10mm mauve flowers. Fixes nitrogen. PLUG grown.
