For a hedge of between 1m – 2m we recommend planting them 50cm – 1m apart.

Masses of tiny yellow flowers then orange berries for the birds, Upright growth, clips well as a hedge.Withstands coastal exposure and dry. Form from the Mangitangi dam in the Hunua Ranges. Very fine light green leaves, small star-like yellow flowers in summer, followed by yellow fruit. Good for clipped hedging. Manna ash - from south Europe and southwest Asia. Broadly spreading, deciduous. Bark is dark grey remaining smooth. Leaves with 5-9 broad ovoid leaflets, autumn colours yellow or purple. Conspicuous clusters of small fragrant white flowers, insect pollinated, developing into bunches of slender samaras. Sap produces a sugary extract 'manna'. Very drought tolerant and used as a street tree.
