Manchurian birch Ht 15-25m

Broadly conical, deciduous. Bark white, with horizontal marks retained to ground level into old age. Chalky white powder rubs off the bark. Bright yellow autumn colour. Vigorous and rust free.

Betula platyphylla v. japonica

Japanese white birch Ht 15-25m

Narrowly weeping, deciduous. Bark pure white and retained to ground level longer than B. pendula. Leaves larger than B. pendula. Not affected by rust and has bright yellow autumn colour. Highly recommended.

Eastern Marlborough high on Seaward Kaikoura Range. Tall shrub with upright branches, topped by a canopy of weeping grey leafless branchlets. In December large hanging clusters of 10mm mauve flowers. Fixes nitrogen.

European hornbeam (1 yr old) Ht 15-20m

Broadly spreading, deciduous. A tough hedgerow and woodland tree. Popular for trimmed formal hedges. The timber is very hard and used for turnery. Yellow autumn colour. We also recommend Fagus sylvatica as a good alternative for a clipped hedge. 1 year olds - HEDGE spacing 30-60cm

FAQ's, Ordering and Delivery

As we predominantly grow our trees in the open ground, our 2023 lifting & grading season has now ended.

Website currently only showing available container grown species that can be ordered online now.

Next season's bare rooted stock will not be able to be ordered online until our stocktake is completed by end of March 2023. However, we are taking forward orders now by email for the 2024 season. We will need your Account name, Address, Contact phone number. Please list quantity, species and preferred height grade.

PLEASE NOTE: New minimum total order quantity is now 50, minimum order quantity per species remains at 10, therefore, order can be made up of ie: 5 species of 10 or 1 of 20 & 1 of 30

Orders will be confirmed after stocktake completed by end of March 2024 and website fully updated. A 25% deposit invoice will be sent at time of order confirmation for all orders.
