NZ white pine. Narrowly conical for many years, evergreen. Will tolerate very wet sites and grow in drier sites with good grass control. Tolerates shade but does best with blue sky above. Shade the trunk with shrubs to prevent sun scorch. Long lived. 2 years old.

Broadly spreading, evergreen. Purple to bronze foliage with red winged fruits in Jan/Feb. Tough shelter shrub for exposed and coastal conditions. Too frost tender for inland South Island areas.

Forest canopy tree in lowland dry areas with a dark sooty trunk.Small leathery leaves arranged along the twig, pale underneath, with slightly incurved margins. DNA different from F. cliffortioides, but they readily hybridise.

A cold hardy selection with a brown stem contrasting with the smaller shiny green leaves. Erect growth habit suitable for screening and hedging.
